York Local Plan

Local Plan This includes proposed Langwith Garden Village within Heslington Parish of 3,400 houses with associated infrastructure. This would include a new major a large raised junction with slip roads on the A64 just south of the Common Lane bridge and new cycle/pedestrian routes via Heslington village into York. It is proposed that a new link road south of Long Lane will join the new settlement to the raised, lit junction. The whole proposal,(ST15) including ecological mitigation sites, (ST10) would require over 800 acres of farmland. This is currently being examined by the government inspectors during public hearings, along with the rest of the draft Local Plan.
